Book Review: Branded by Clarissa Wild

Review I was completely unprepared for this book since I've been reading light-hearted, sweet romance novels for the past few weeks. This books is dark and twisty. Murder, suspense, sex, drugs, mob-like family connections. Brandon and his father left the Indian reservation. He father refused to tell him why they left nor why they have …

Book Review: Interlude by D Kelly

Review I commend Kelly for exploring bisexuality and giving the characters the freedom to explore their sexuality. Very few authors have successfully been able to allow the characters this level of sexual and emotional exploration without the novel being erotic or overtly sexual. Jordan and Kyle's sexuality is about who they are as a person …

Book Review: Down We’ll Come, Baby by Carrie Aarons

Most generally romance novels end when the couple is engaged or even when they marry, very few explore married life. That's where this novel goes. What happens when the spark is fizzling? Chemistry is still there but life gets in the way. For Imogene and Theo, a few things are getting in the way …

Book Review: Memories of Us by Kennedy Mitchell

A heartbreaking second chance romance that pulls all the heart strings. This is one of the few books, I've cried while reading. It doesn't help that my grandparents had a farm growing up so many of my own memories intermingled with this story and characters. It is a must read! Brenton Graves left his grandfather's ranch right after high school for college. Both he and his brother, Caleb attended school in Dallas--six hours away from the ranch. It also placed both boys closer to their alcoholic father who uses people, women, and drug more than toilet paper. Oh, and the Graves family are oil tycoon rich from Brenton's great, great, great, great, great grandfather. The ranch has been in their family for generations. Too bad Brenton doesn't remember much from his teen years through to his early twenties. Until he woke up in a rehab center with his grandfather looking over him.

Book Review: Chasing my Forever by Heidi McLaughlin

I love love love Quinn James and his introverted ways. Part of it could be due to the fact that y son is extremely introverted. I could see many of the same traits in both Quinn and my son. Once Quinn picks up a guitar, he transforms. He comes alive. Music runs through him. He doesn't have a single memory without music or band life. He grew up on a tour bus, recording studio, or where ever his drummer father was. Quinn loves his quiet life. He plays on open mic nights where he meets Eleanora Boone fresh from college.  Eleanora is from a rich southern family, deeply rooted in traditions. One tradition is unofficial arranged marriages. She was dating Roy all through high school. She thought she was in love with him. But shortly after she left, Roy was dating other women. Sure, in high school there were rumors that Roy was cheating on her with other women. She never had proof. She was in love with him so she believed everything he said. He has been pressuring her to come home so they can announce their engagement. Even though he hasn't asked her. Even her parents are talking about the engagement. This is one of the many reasons why she picked a college far away from South Carolina. Now, she's a college graduate. She's expected to come home and marry Roy. Just the thought sends waves of panic through her. When the opportunity arises to drive her graduation present home instead of flying, she takes it. Instead of driving home, she drives to California and shares an apartment with her college friend, Kellie.
